Kelly B Recommends: Skinny Black Pants

Going to college in the late 90's we all had a go-to pair of boot leg black pants.  We would wear them to frat parties, special events, and even church.  When we would talk about the dress code for a party, we would say "Black pants, shiny shirt."  Eventually black pants were replaced by dressy jeans, but I think there are still MANY occasions that call for something dressier than jeans.  The item that I am always recommending is skinny black pants.  I have a couple pairs of these.  One longer pair and one ankle length pair.  They are a great modern take on black pants.  Skinny black pants can be dressed up for going out, and dressed down for work or more casual events.
Here are some affordable options...

  2. kelly saw your blog link on fb.....really cute! hope it does well for you! all cute pants but would you say for some body types the skinny doesn't look well? i'm shorter with shorter legs, and i just do not like my legs in them......so i've yet to just "wear them".....so wondering if you think that even a great style has to look flattering and well on certain/right body type to pull off that style? 3. Erica,
I think the key to wearing a skinny leg pant is the way you style them. Shorter legs would probably look better with a longer length skinny pant, and heels or wedges would make your legs look longer. Also a bright top, especially one that shows off your waist (maybe belted?) would take attention off you shorter legs and on to your upper half. I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you try some skinny pants. I think they are more forgiving than skinny jeans. Let me know if you give them a try!
Also, just peeked at your blog, so cute. Love your gorgeous pictures!
